We are seeking motivated Laborers to join our Utility Services team. This role is essential to restoring and backfilling pothole locations after utility exposure work. About This Job
As a Restoration & Backfilling Laborer, you will work alongside our potholing crews to restore job sites after utilities have been exposed. This includes backfilling holes, compacting soil, patching surfaces, and ensuring each site is left clean, safe, and compliant with project requirements.
Construction experience is preferred, and successful candidates are reliable, safety‑focused, and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions.
Average work hours are approximately 40 hours per week (some overtime will be available). Work hours may vary, and employees must be willing to work nights or weekends when required for safety or project scheduling.
Hourly Wage
- $22 – $27/hr
Your actual pay will be based on your applicable experience.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Perform backfilling, compaction, and restoration of pothole locations
- Assist with general construction labor including shoveling, raking, sweeping, and site cleanup
- Restore surfaces such as soil, gravel, asphalt, or concrete as required
- Support potholing crews with material handling and jobsite preparation
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Document daily activities and communicate progress to supervisors
- Operate basic hand tools and small equipment safely and effectively
Requirements
- 1+ year of general construction or labor experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds periodically, walk or stand for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions
- Basic computer skills
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Able to pass pre‑employment drug and criminal background screening
- Willingness to learn restoration and utility‑related processes
Skills
- Basic understanding of construction practices; experience with backfilling or restoration is a plus
- Knowledge of OSHA safety procedures preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Self‑motivated with a strong commitment to safety
